Gretchen's haircut

After we dropped off Carl today, I made Gretchen an appointment for a haircut. Her hair grows super slowly, but it was getting tangly at the ends. I figured now was a good time to get it cut making plans for our trip to NY in mid June. (I will take Carl to get his cut soon... I have to study the pictures from last summer's cut again to determine how far ahead of the June trip I want to get it cut. Lew wants it short! Boo Hoo! I want the "Baby Cut" for my little boy! But, for the summer, we'll go for really short and then I get to let him grow it out and look all surfer dude during the fall/winter/spring. But, here I have hijacked Gretchen's hair post with Carl talk.)

She was very excited to be going to the salon because after her hair cut, she knew they would paint her fingernails with sparkles! She did great for the cut and then chose pink sparkles over purple. They have an aerosol can of quick drying something that makes it almost instant. I tried painting them once at home and it was a disaster waiting for the polish to dry. I am not so good with girlie girl stuff. But, both my kids can recognize and properly pronounce "Birkenstocks".

They didn't have any puppies out in the play pool, and the ones in the cages were all snuggled up and sleeping. So, we didn't go into the puppy room today. Kind of disappointing, but she was happy to have just been given 2 Tootsie Rolls. Oh this girl has a sweet tooth! Actually, the very first lollipop she ever had was at this salon back on the day when Carl got his very first haircut.

Errands like this are one of the best parts of having the kids in pre-school on different days. It is so easy to run errands when you only have 1 kid!!! Oh, don't let the moms with only one kid hear me say that - they think they have it so hard running to the post office or the store with a three year old in tow!

Look how cute she is...
