another cool toy... Hot Wheels

Not just the classics. Although, Carl is all-boy in that he loves his Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars. When we came back from NY a few weeks ago, I brought back 2 cases of old cars. They were either mine or Kenny's. Both cases are Dukes of Hazard! You know, I kind of wish they were still showing 20 reruns of that daily on CMT. The twins would love it! They sure loved the cases of cars! I let it slip that there were approximately 8 more cases still at Grammie's. We'll "steal" two of them each time we visit. Carl was a riot going through them, "Check this one out!" over and over.

But, the cool toy is a new product. Hot Wheels Color Shifters. They look like regular Hot Wheels cars, but if you dip them in warm/hot water, they turn one color and if you dip them in icy/cold water, they turn a different color. Both kids love them and we even gave one to the birthday girl last Saturday. She has a big brother, so she may know about cars, but often, parents with only girls forget how much girls love trucks and cars! Vice versa for dress up clothes, stuffed animals and kitchen toys with boys. And even if she already has a few... you can never have too many Hot Wheels!

So, a cup of ice water on the side of the bathtub makes for a nice long playtime in the tub!

Now, if your son should be tall enough to reach the kitchen faucet and also has access to the ice maker on the fridge door... then you may have problems with water on the kitchen floor. You've been warned!
