Disney day 4... Hollywood Studios

Yes.  These are very late.

We headed to Disney Hollywood Studios today.  The big excitement was that for Halloween everyone had dressed up as characters from Phineas & Ferb and we were very excited to be lugging our costumes along with us for a Meet & Greet with the boys!

First, a stop to pose in front of the big park's icon - Mickey's Sorcerer Hat!

A quick costume change in the bathroom and on to Phineas & Ferb!  They loved that Lew aka Dr Doofenschmirtz (their pet platypus' nemesis) had his remote!  Carl was dressed as Agent P.  The boys have a pet platypus who is a secret agent.

 Gretchen is dressed as Vanessa, Dr Doof's teen aged daughter whom Ferb (green hair) has a big crush on.  He did not want to let Gretchen go!  She loved it!

Behind the Phineas& Ferb meet and greet area, you will find Lightning McQueen and Mater!   You can see Carl holding his ear.  They are loud!

We did a little shopping and then went to see the Muppets 3D show.  Statler and Waldorf were up in the balcony just like you'd expect - heckling away!

I really should just do a whole post about Disney food.  Lunch was next on the schedule.  Mom, Gretchen & I headed over to The Pizza Planet (the restaurant from Toy Story) to get our lunch while the boys went into the ABC Commissary.  Carl calls this "The Chew restaurant" because inside they have TVs on and lots of posters of ABC shows... one of which is the afternoon talk show called, "The Chew".  He thinks he loves this show although he has never seen it.  He is a goofball.

 I did not get a shot of Carl's cheeseburger because it was gone before we returned with our food.  But, they bought us some chocolate mousse that was definitely worth a shutter click.

Right after lunch, we could return to Toy Story Mania to use our Fast Passes we picked up earlier.  Well, Lew ran over and picked them up earlier.  That is how Fast Passes work - dads run to get them while moms do something else.

My mom decided not to ride - good choice.  All the spinning would have made her queasy for sure.  Right across the street from the TSM ride is the meet and greet area for Buzz and Woody.  The line has some photo stations as you snake through the building.

On our way out, we ran into a Green Army Man.  Just like last year, when one played with Carl and imitated his actions, this one was playful, too.  He had some kids and their dad doing push-ups when we approached him.

We love the Beauty and The Beast show!  We had ear plugs for Carl - you can see him smiling away while wearing them.

There is a playground in DHS that is based on the set of "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids" where the equipment is larger than life.  The slide is a roll of film coming out of a canister.  There are huge props overhead and there is this big ol' any you can climb on.

We got a chance to interact with Mike & Sully from Monsters, Inc, too.  I love that movie!  The kids do not know it, but I think it is the next Disney movie to be coming out in theaters in 3D.  We did not go to see Nemo in 3D.  Shhhh.

 Actually, earlier in the day, we stopped at their area, but it was only Mike.  He played a hilarious game of tag with the twins.

OK.  If you get a chance to go there, you need to know that Disney Hollywood Studios has better carrot cake cookies than the other park's bakeries.  We assumed that every park would sell these and we spent the rest of the week buying and trying them from other Disney bakeries only to find them different shaped and not as good.  You need to shop at this bakery:

The carrot cake cookie is in the upper left corner in this collage of our favorite desserts.  Upper right is Carl's beloved gummy cheeseburger.  Lower left is Lew's frosting addiction.  That lower middle is my fav - a s'more square.  Lower right is Miss Gretchen with a cake pop.  She is pretty flexible with her sweets, you know.

We saw the Disney Playhouse show and met a few characters from that as well. Handy Manny and The Little Einsteins.

family photos.  When you go to Disney, they have photographers everywhere.  They will take your photo with their camera and scan it onto your little photo credit card.  You can then choose to purchase the disc of all the photos taken during your vacation.  But, they will also use your camera and take a photo for you as well.  I highly recommend taking full advantage of these Cast Members.  Even if you choose not to buy the disc, the pictures they take for you will be nice shots.
