it might rain... let's go bowling!

We didn't have much planned for today - just hanging out.  We did that yesterday, too.  Yesterday, the kids started their Disney scrapbooks - each completing one page.  We also played some games together.  That seems to be a theme for the week.  We ate leftovers and just hung out at home.

But, today, the kids kept asking, "Where are we going to travel?"  So, I thought maybe we'd head downtown with a snack and walk by the river for a bit.  Maybe do a little shopping of the window variety.  But, just as we thought about it, the 30% chance of rain rolled in.  It never actually rained, but we didn't feel like being out in it if it did.

So, we decided to go bowling!

Yes, these 2 are blurry... but cute.

Scores of game #1.  Gretchen 84.  Carl 59.
How about a few pointers from Grammie?

They bowled the first game with the bumpers up, but no ramp.  For the second game, we asked for a ramp.  Carl used it the whole time, but Gretchen was split between using it and not.  By the end of her game, she was throwing her first ball by herself and then lining the ramp up to try to pick up the spare.

Scores after the 2nd game. Gretchen 90. Carl 97.

If your kids like bowling - check out KidsBowlFree dot com to see if an alley in your area participates. Starting April 15th, your kids can bowl 2 games per day for free all summer long.  It ends on Sept 15th.  You have to rent the shoes, but the 2 games per kid are free.  You can also pay a little to have the whole family get 2 free games per day.  If you go even a few times, it is worth it.  I would have saved $10 yesterday if it had been on at this point.  And, it's free... so if you sign up and never go, oh well.  You aren't out anything.

After bowling, we headed to Costco to snack on samples, buy milk and have lunch.  Then, on to Target to get some pink sandals for the girl.  We decided to skip nap and so, at home, the kids made one more scrapbook page.  Carl is really into it.  Turns out, it was another leftovers dinner for Mom and the kids... but Lew and I got to go downtown to a nice restaurant.  I had sweet potato grouper....  mmmmmmmmm!!!!!  No leftovers from that!  The kids played games with Mom before bedtime, of course!

Tomorrow, we're going to the Children's Museum in the  morning for a spring event and egg hunt.  Then, at 5:00 we're going to our favorite fancy toy store to hold the live baby bunnies.  Stay tuned for a little report and photos from that!
