milestone concert!

Last week, the twins attended their first RUSH concert!  And, believe it or not... by "attended" I mean "slept through".    We drove up to Raleigh after school, shopped at the Lego store, ate dinner and headed over for the 7:30 concert.

We asked the people in front of us to snap a family picture for us on our way in....

We bought them protective headphones which worked well.  Too well, I guess.  I cannot believe they could sleep through it!  Especially with the base thumping your chest and belly like it was.  But, they did.  We had good seats.  Here they are waiting for the show to start!

The concert started only a couple minutes late at 7:35.  The first half was a lot of their stuff from the 1980s, so Carl was not as into it as we knew he would be for the second half.  But, the thing is, Gretchen fell asleep at 8:30 and Carl fell asleep at about 8:31.

They slept for 2 hours and missed all the songs they would know.  We tried to wake them up, but had no luck.  We did get them up when we knew the encore was to begin so we could head to our car and beat the crowds out of there.  We saw several other families with young kids there doing the same exact thing.

It took us a couple hours to drive home.  They didn't sleep much for that - they had a great 2 hour very expensive venue nap earlier in the evening!
